When you visit a new city or area, it can be fun and interesting to investigate some of the local history. The Los Alto History Museum allows visitors to do just this. Located only about 10 minutes from the Mountain View Hotel, the Los Alto History Museum focuses on exhibits that highlight the diversity and history of the Northern Santa Clara Valley. For the rest of the month, you can experience the “Paint the Town II” exhibit features artwork from local artists that represents some of the historic homes, architecture, and landscapes of the area. If you are looking for something a little different, visit “The Business of Apricots” exhibit that explains the process of getting the delicious fruit from the tree to your family table. The museum is open Thursday-Sunday, noon-4 pm, and admission is free. The Los Alto History Museum is the perfect place to spend an afternoon indulging your intellectual side.
